Eindhoven

Technical university, sports club, Philips electronics, illumination festival – these are the first associations with the City of Light in the south of the Netherlands. Get ready for a journey through time: you will find a prehistoric village by the lake in Heempark, an ancient water mill, the neo-Gothic St. Catherine's Church, and the futuristic De Blob shopping center building.

In the city center, check out the new building and the collection of contemporary art at the Van Abbemuseum. Stroll through the trendy neighborhoods of the Woensel-West area and go shopping on Geldropseweg. By the canal near the DAF museum and the lift bridge, take note of the modern kinetic sculpture (two hemispheres of red and blue).

Have a photo session against the backdrop of the Next Nature Museum: the architects created a unique complex in the shape of an alien flying saucer. Visit the Van Gogh Museum and the Motion Experience illumination art platform. After sunset, head to the Van Gogh–Roosergaarde bike path (thousands of stones glow at night).

Eindhoven is renowned for its effective renovation of industrial buildings. On the site of the former factory, the Stadsbrouwerij brewery is operating. The military police barracks have been transformed into the Kazerne design center. In the industrial park Strijp-S, visit the art museum, taste local products at Het Veem Food Market, and stroll along the beautiful boulevard with shops and cafes.
