The first foundation stone of the Church of Saint Barnabas was laid more than 10 centuries ago, but it was completely destroyed due to a fire. The building that has survived to our day was only erected in the 18th century. It's not to say that the church stands out among similar structures in Venice. Nonetheless, its popularity among tourists is indisputable, all thanks to the "Indiana Jones" movie. Although according to the plot of the film, inside the church there is a huge library, and beneath it, a rat-infested tunnel, in reality, none of this ever existed in the building. In another scene, you can see the magnificent façade of the majestic building and a nearby café, which can also be seen in the movie. By the way, the café is still operational, so you can enjoy a cup of coffee here while admiring the splendid façade of the church.

Indiana Jones pops out of the ground in front of this church (library in the movie). Now it's museum dedicated to the inventions, both conceptual and created, of Leonardo DaVinci. Absolutely worth some of your time spent in Venice.
