The creation of the highly unconventional Czech sculptor D.ČernÝ, "Hanging Man," was presented to the public in 1997. Since then, it has participated in many world exhibitions and has gained proper recognition from critics.

Now, the monument, which is 220 centimeters in size, hangs on Husova Street, occasionally startling unsuspecting tourists.

However, the creator's intention was not limited to merely shocking the audience. By his own admission, the sculpture represents Sigmund Freud, who was the first to discover such a concept in the depths of the human psyche as the "unconscious." Yet, a certain portion of the people sees a resemblance of the "Hanging Man" to V.I. Lenin, therefore finding in the monument a certain political subtext that mocks the abrupt collapse of communist idealism.
