Since the Jewish community in Prague was the largest in Europe, the Jewish Museum boasts quite an impressive collection of artifacts that narrate Jewish history. It began its operation in 1906.

During the Nazi occupation of Czechia, the museum, surprisingly, received new exhibits and expanded. While the Jewish community aimed to preserve as many items related to history as possible, the Nazis, on the other hand, wanted to create a collection that would tell the story of a non-existent people. This led to the formation of the world's richest exhibition, boasting over 40,000 items.

In the Soviet era of Czechoslovakia's history, the collection was known as the State Jewish Museum - until 1994 when the Jewish Museum became an independent organization, and all its property came to be owned by the Jewish community of Czechia.

Музей располагается в тихом месте в центре Праги. Этот комплекс многоярусный, он состоит из нескольких синагог и кладбища. Во время экскурсии не оставляет ощущение печали. Грустные фото времен войны, рисунки детей из концлагерей. Охватывает ужас, когда пытаешься все это осмыслить.
