Quite often, the crossing between the two banks of the Seine is called one of the most elegant in France. The famous bridge was initated by the Russian Emperor Nicholas II in the late 1890s. Its name was again owed to an emperor of the Russian Empire - Alexander III, who is the father of Nicholas II. The construction of the bridge was symbolic - a symbol of the Franco-Russian alliance. Today, the bridge is about 160 meters long and no more than 6 meters high.

In response, also symbolizing the Franco-Russian alliance, was the construction of the Trinity Bridge in Saint Petersburg, which was carried out in parallel. Both structures feature coats of arms representing friendship, and the design includes two nymphs personifying the rivers - the Neva and the Seine.

Très bel architecture, une partie était en travaux lors de ma venue. Il y a plusieurs péniches bar sur les quais dont l'accès est à réserver en ligne, toutefois quelques tables sont disponibles le long des quais mais très vite prise d'assaut.
