Margaret Island in Budapest
About
Frozen between the two parts of the capital-Buda and Pest, Margaret Island has become the most popular place for active leisure among Budapest residents. Here, there's always someone walking their dog, jogging along the paths, cycling, or playing badminton.
Margaret Island is connected to the city by two bridges: Margaret and Arpad. The main attraction of the place is considered to be the unique musical fountain, which in the evenings hosts a real light and music show.
Scattered across the island are numerous monuments to prominent Hungarian figures. For tourists who prefer extreme activities to viewing ancient monuments, there's an open beach "Palatinus" with water slides in the center of Margaret Island.
