Just visited for drinks. Pleasant and efficient staff. Beer good.

Lovely pint of Sussex whilst overlooking the sea. A lovely spot. This was spoiled by the curt obnoxious member of staff behind the bar. Everything was too much for this guy. When he decided to turn round and saw he had a couple of customers waiting he did the biggest eye roll and greeted an elderly couple with, “Yes, what you want?’ 5 stars for location - 1 for staff.

Booked in for 1 night and paid £350 for a room without breakfast included (wow) (without a balcony) which was such a shame as we’d walked 12 miles to this hotel so we could have a room looking over the beach. The room we actually got was a large well designed room in the roof of the second floor. I went down to ask if we could swap rooms and it was a stern no. They are all booked. Fair enough, slightly moody receptionist. But our evening got exceedingly better as Nathan served us in the restaurant on the veranda and he was such a lovely man. So attentive and actually cared. We had a really lovely 3 course meal with cocktails because he was so good at his job. I actually wanted to eat elsewhere because I didn’t think the lady on reception gave a hoot about our stay. Thankfully we didn’t, the chicken skewers were so good and the fish was moist and fluffy. Really good chef. Cheese board was a delight and the chocolate dessert. Scott enjoyed an old fashion and mojito all really great quality. Nathan made our day by being funny polite and just really good at what he does. Thank you
