About

Gone are the days when kings and electors entertained themselves by hunting in these areas, shooting game and sipping wine from leather flasks. Now Tiergarten is a vast park of more than 200 hectares, where adults with merry children wander through winding paths stretching for 30 kilometers. The Neuer lake has held its silence for many years, as if remembering every shout, every smile, and every confession. The local beer restaurant is one of the best in Berlin, pouring frothy pleasure by the keg, intoxicating the imagination. Reichstag, the Triumphal Arch, and the Museum of World Cultures are situated on the endless expanses of Tiergarten, embedded into its soil, having set down strong roots. And, like a blast from the past, a sobering reminder appears before one's eyes: the monument to the Soviet soldier, erected after the Nazis' surrender.
