About

Montserrat Monastery is surrounded by 1,200 cliffs that have become its silent guardians. The sanctuary has belonged to the Benedictine order for over a thousand years, and today, 80 monks live, work, and offer their prayers to God here.

The main attraction of the monastery, which seems to draw crowds of tourists like a magnet, is the statue of the Black Madonna. According to legend, it was carved by the apostle Luke himself, and brought to Spain by Peter. Additionally, Montserrat Monastery features a small museum, considered one of the best in Europe. It houses a collection of paintings by Picasso, Degas, Dalí, and El Greco.

Lugar muy bonito, se puede recibie la entrada gratuita para los residentes. Lo único que os aconsejo es entrar primero pedirla, porque siempre hay mucha cola.
