Il municipio Vecchio di Bamberg o Altes-Rathuas fu sotruito nel 1387 su un isoletta artificiale sul fiume Regnitz e successivamente rinnovato nel secolo XV e negli anni a cavallo della metà del 700 quando furono affrescate le partei laterali.
