About

Spui Square is located on the site of a river that flowed here in the 15th century. After the Singel canal was opened, the river was filled in to create the square. Twice a week, the square is filled with people - artists, souvenir sellers, and old book vendors. Music plays throughout these lively times at Spui, making the atmosphere even more cheerful and vibrant. Neither the weather nor the season can interfere with this schedule. Under any circumstances, on Friday and Sunday, the square transforms.
