Una curiosidad simpática sobre la Marktplatz de Würzburg es que durante siglos ha sido el corazón del comercio local: allí se celebraban los grandes mercados de vino de Franconia 🍷, tan concurridos que, según las crónicas, en el siglo XV los vendedores tenían que turnarse por falta de espacio en la plaza. Hoy en día sigue viva esa tradición, porque además de los mercados semanales, la Marktplatz se transforma cada diciembre en uno de los mercadillos navideños más animados de Baviera, con vino caliente, artesanía y luces que llenan de vida el centro histórico.
