Uwielbiam to miejsce nie tylko za mistrzowskie spektakle, ale i niezwykły klimat.

Studio Buffo is a prominent musical theater located in Warsaw, Poland. It's renowned for its innovative musical productions, concerts, and for being a launchpad for many talented Polish artists. History and Establishment The building where Studio Buffo is located has a long history. It was originally built in 1934 as the Polish headquarters for the YMCA. In 1956, it became home to the Buffo theater, a cabaret stage focusing on satire and light entertainment. In 1992, after the immense success of the musical "Metro", which had been staged elsewhere, composer Janusz Stokłosa (President) and director/choreographer Janusz Józefowicz (Artistic Director) founded STUDIO BUFFO sp. z o.o. They took over the existing Buffo theater, making it the first private musical theater in Warsaw after World War II, a status it held for many years. Their aim was to provide a permanent home for "Metro" and to create a unique space for Polish musical theater. The first production under the new Studio Buffo management was "Do grającej szafy grosik wrzuć" (Drop a Coin into the Jukebox) in 1993, featuring artists who would later become household names, such as Edyta Górniak and Katarzyna Groniec. What Makes Studio Buffo Unique? * Pioneer in Private Theater: Studio Buffo broke ground as one of the first private theaters in post-war Poland, operating without public subsidies. * Talent Incubator: It has been instrumental in discovering and nurturing new talent, with many prominent Polish singers and actors beginning their careers on its stage. The theater also runs the "Studio Artystyczne Metro" (Metro Artistic Studio) to train young artists. * Diverse Repertoire: While famous for musicals, Studio Buffo also hosts a variety of concerts, recitals, and themed evenings (e.g., "Wieczór Włoski" - Italian Evening, "Wieczór Bałkański" - Balkan Evening). * Intimate Setting: The theater's relatively small and intimate main hall allows for a close connection between the audience and the performers. * Technological Innovation: Janusz Józefowicz is known for experimenting with new technologies in theater, including 3D projections in some productions like "POLITA." Location Studio Buffo is located in the Śródmieście (city center) district of Warsaw, at ul. Marii Konopnickiej 6, 00-491 Warsaw, Poland.
