About

The Globe Museum in Vienna is a unique destination, home to the world's only open collection of globes. Originally, the exhibition belonged to the National Library located in the same place. Over the years, the collection expanded, and in 1956, it was decided to establish a separate museum. Each exhibit is unique in its own way. For example, some globes were once owned by Austrian emperors. Among the most original pieces are three globes created in the 16th century. These include a terrestrial and a celestial globe, dated 1541 and 1551 respectively. Additionally, the Gemma Frisius' globe is of significant value.
