Amoado is a cozy little spot inside the Mercado de Abastos, surrounded by other food booths, so it’s perfect for sampling a few things as you go. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Their Tarta de Santiago was a standout—moist, full of almond flavor. It did have a caramel sauce on top (tastes like Lotus) which I pushed off as the cake was sweet and delicious enough on its own. Next time I’d ask for it without the sauce! Overall it’s a great place to take a break, grab a bite, and soak in the market vibe. Casual, tasty, and a good stop if you’re wandering through the mercado.
