I haven't been here in somewhere around 30 years, and I'm so glad to see it still standing! I had to write this review because I mentioned it to a biology major at my university, and she said it sounded amazing. I said it is, and it changed my life. I don't know if it's still there or not, as I'm an adventurer now and can't get back there easily, but when I was there as a teenager I saw a giant bulletproof glass set of... slides, almost, that you could walk in between. In the glass panels was a beehive. A beehive that's 20 feet wide that you can walk around in safely! It was so amazing. The insect petting zoo (Chilean rose hair tarantula, giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches, stick bugs, emperor scorpion) was really great. Even a weirdo like me didn't pet everything, but as an old man now, I definitely would. Please keep being amazing, San Francisco Insect Zoo! I have nothing but love for you, and have been telling people all around the world about you since my one visit. You changed my life for the better!

‼️⚠️ Warnings: people with entomophobia and trypophobia MUST stay away! ⚠️‼️ I don’t have these but upon seeing some displaying exhibits sent several chills down my spine. A preservation for insects. There are many different species of insects being cared for and on displays here.
