About
At the bustling intersection of Powell and Market Street lies the iconic Cable Car Turnaround, a historical attraction that perfectly encapsulates the charm of San Francisco. Here, visitors can watch in awe as the legendary cable cars are manually turned and pushed onto the turntable, a unique spectacle that fascinates both children and adults alike. With each cable car starting its journey every 15 to 20 minutes, it offers an easy on-and-off for exploration.
A single ride costs just $8, but for those with an appetite for adventure, a day pass at $13 provides endless opportunities to discover the city from a unique vantage point. As you ride, enjoy incredible views of San Francisco with the wind in your hair, and, for the bold, standing on the side offers a front-row seat to the city's vibrant streets. This is not just a ride; it's a moving piece of history set against the backdrop of Union Square, offering an experience as timeless as San Francisco itself.

This place is so cool! The experience was ruined only by a crazy man who kept shouting at the queueing people to read a bible.

My wife and I got here early to ride the cable car. We waited for about 15 minutes. Please note that even though there are multiple cable cars at the turnaround sites, they don't launch multiple cable cars all at once. It is a fun experience for families, couples, and groups who come to San Francisco. My wife and I rode it twice and that was good enough for us. But we loved the experience.

Always a great ride ...
