About

Constructed in the 5th century, the Archbishop's Chapel was dedicated to the apostolic deeds of Andrew the First-Called and has changed its appearance numerous times over the years. The building is designed in the shape of a cross, complemented by an apse to the east, and adorned with pristine white mosaics featuring lilies, rose petals, and multicolored birds at the entrance. The central entrance is also decorated with a lunette depicting a young Christ in military attire. The chapel's main attraction is a huge mosaic with stars, planets, and comets, as well as the monogram of Jesus. A silver cross with 40 medallions, kept on the altar, is a particular treasure of the church, under constant supervision.
