About

Paris is the city of love. To remind us of this, and with the aim of starting the new century on a positive note, in March 2000, French artists Frederic Baron and Claire Kito unveiled the Wall of Love. It is made of 612 tiles, on which the phrase "I love you" is written in 311 different languages using various fonts. From the day it opened, the Wall of Love has been extremely popular with both locals and tourists, especially among couples in love. At one point, there even emerged a legend that if you press your hand to the inscription in your native language and make a wish, you could very quickly find your soulmate or formalize your relationship.
