About

Holmenkollen Chapel in Oslo stands as a remarkable wooden structure capturing the enchanting essence of Dragestil and Art Nouveau architecture. This picturesque chapel, with its dragon scale roof and detailed wooden trim, overlooks the iconic Holmenkollbakken ski jump, serving both as an attraction and a spiritual haven. The large glass windows invite natural light, while inside, the acoustics are exceptional, making it a cherished venue for choir performances.

Rebuilt in 1996 after the original 1903 structure was lost to arson, the chapel honors its roots with stave church elements, echoing its historical significance. Locals believe it offers a protective presence to skiers, blessing their jumps with safety and success. Rated 4.7 on Google, it provides a serene atmosphere that complements the vigorous spirit of the skiing competitions, making it a beloved spot for both athletes and visitors seeking tranquility amidst the bustling ski season.

Das ursprüngliche Gebetshaus brannte 1992 ab und wurde 1996 durch eine Kirche im Stil der traditionellen norwegischen Stabkirchen ersetzt. Der Besuch hat uns sehr gefallen.
