Respondí: “No, gracias. Hello, I visited your restaurant today. I was really looking forward to ending a long, hard work week with a decadent breakfast. I arrived around 8:15 AM, expecting the place to be fairly empty, but to my surprise, there were already a few tables dining. As I entered, I was asked, "Would you like to sit at the front by the kids' play area?" I responded, "No thanks, I’d rather sit over here." The hostess said okay. After we had seated ourselves—stroller and all—I was a bit confused that no one asked if we needed a high chair for my 1 year-old. I assumed that would either be offered or brought to us. Since that didn’t happen, I simply left the stroller at the end of the table, next to me. A woman then approached us with a rather stern tone and said, "You can’t sit here with your stroller. It’s obstructing my path." I told her, "Well, you have three open walkways you could pass through." She replied, "Oh, I don’t think you understand," as if I didn’t speak Spanish—even though my Spanish is actually very advanced. It wasn’t just what she said, but how she said it—her tone and body language came across as unnecessarily harsh. Then she pointed toward the back of the restaurant and said, "You can sit all the way back there." Honestly, the way it was handled reminded me of segregation-era treatment—like being told to sit at the back of the ...
