We made a booking with no knowledge of this restaurant and were blown away to discover possibly the best Italian food that we have ever tasted (and we have travelled extensively in Italy). We loved every mouthful and will go back for more!

In het bruisende centrum van Malaga vind je dit unieke, Italiaanse restaurant. De kwaliteit spat er van af, dat zie je aan de smaakvolle inrichting en proef je aan de geweldige gerechten. Alle ingrediënten zijn lokaal en glutenvrij, zelfs de pasta. De jonge, ambitieuze eigenaar (die overigens oorspronkelijk uit Rome komt): “Mijn moeder eet geen gluten, zij moet uiteraard wel in ons restaurant kunnen eten.” Zijn broer en hij startten dit culinaire avontuur drie maanden geleden. We hebben ademloos geluisterd naar hun persoonlijke drijfveren. De chef bereidt alles zelf in zijn open keuken. “I have no secrets”, kwam hij bevlogen vertellen. Hij gebruikt geen ‘pakjes’, maakt ook alle sauzen zelf. Onze favoriete gerechten waren de burrata, entrecote en pasta met tonijn tartaar. Na afloop mochten we exclusieve kazen proeven en maakte de chef speciaal voor ons scroppinos, die stonden (nog) niet op de kaart. De avond voelde als een feestje voor ons. Niet alleen omdat toevallig de eigenaar jarig was, maar omdat alles klopte: de sfeer, het eten en wellicht vooral de mensen. We wensen de Italiaanse broers, de chef en alle medewerkers een succesvol familiebedrijf toe en hopen dat nog veel anderen van Unico mogen genieten!
