About

In the captivating city of Lübeck, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church stands as a testament to the Gothic Revival architecture brought to life by the talents of Arnold Güldenpfennig. Opened in 1891, this remarkable structure is relatively new due to the city's Protestant Reformation history, where the previous cathedral was repurposed. Visitors often find themselves enchanted by its peaceful atmosphere and the exquisite craftsmanship that adorns every corner. Among its most admired features is the Jesus on the cross sculpture by Ernst Barlach, a masterpiece that fits seamlessly into the church's stunning architecture, exuding a sense of reverence and glory. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church's perfect blend of historical integrity and architectural grace makes it a must-see attraction in Lübeck, with a deservedly high rating from those who have visited.
