The chap at the ticket desk at the Estorick Collection recommended The Place to me. What a delight. We had quiche & salad and drinks and sat there and chatted away for hours. Lovely atmosphere. Not rushed. A real local gem. The lovely staff looked after a ladies new born for hours so she could sit and drink coffee. Pretty amazing right! When we left it was raining, hard and so we paused. The lady (with the baby) asked if we needed an umbrella. I said I don't live around here. She said they keep umbrellas and this one had been there sixth months. How nice is this!
