I was collecting 'reserved' food for my freezer to eat at a later date. I recommend downloading the app 'Too Good to Go'. Save food from going to waste. Greggs (136) was very busy! They were almost out of everything when I collected my 'surprise bag' at 4 pm. Another Greggs on Lewisham (High Street) cancelled my order for 'reserve' as all their surplus stock was sold out completely!

I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding an upsetting experience I had at your store on 19th April, between 16:00 and 16:05. I am a regular Greggs customer and often use the Greggs app to place my orders. I’ve always appreciated the service across various branches—until this visit. As I entered the store, there was no staff present at the counter to greet or assist me. A team member walked past me in the aisle, heading outside, without acknowledging me at all. After a brief wait, I politely said, “Excuse me, can you please…”, to which she abruptly responded, “Can't you wait!” (first words from her mouth" while walking away and proceeded to the back of the store. When she returned to the counter, I simply requested a slice of pizza and a mocha, pointing to the item. Her first response, in a flat and condescending tone, was: “Learn some manners, I’m in the middle of something here.” There was no greeting, no apology for the wait, no professionalism whatsoever. Stunned, I asked, “I’m sorry, are you talking to me?” to which she replied, “Yeah, I’m talking to you—the rude guy.” I was genuinely speechless and deeply disappointed. I pride myself on being polite and respectful in every interaction, and I felt unfairly targeted and insulted without provocation. To make matters worse, the pizza I received was cold, and there was no apology or acknowledgment of the poor service from any staff member. I strongly urge management to review the CCTV footage and, if possible, audio recordings of this interaction. This level of customer service is unacceptable and damaging to the Greggs brand. Having worked in fast food myself for over a year, I understand the demands of the job—but there is never an excuse for rudeness or lack of basic courtesy. I hope this matter is taken seriously and appropriate steps are taken to ensure no other customer has to endure such treatment in the future.
