Llandudno

The Queen of Welsh resorts is an excellent spot for beach holidays and walking tours. The main meeting place at the resort is the long promenade, which was built during the reign of Queen Victoria. Start your walk on the southern side of the bay from the Craig-y-Don Paddling Pool. Seek shelter from the rain and wind in one of the dozens of pavilions overlooking the sea. Enjoy a performance by the orchestra at the Llandudno Bandstand. On the northern side of the bay, visit the entertainment center with rides and a Ferris wheel, try some ice cream, or take a donkey ride. The pier, famous for its 700-meter length, features cafes and fishing spots.

On the promenade, find the bronze statue of the Mad Hatter. This is one of the stops on the Alice in Wonderland Town Trail: the famous tale was written right in Llandudno. From the tall white column on Gloddaeht Avenue, you can walk across the entire town to West Shore Beach and admire the sunset. Roads to the north lead to the Great Orme headland with magnificent views.

The best viewpoint in Llandudno, standing at 207 meters high, is conveniently accessible by cable car or the carriage of the Victorian Great Orme Tramway. In the evening, watch a show at Venue Cymru theatre and relax in one of the restaurants with a sea view. Cycling trips on Penrhyn-side hill and relaxing in Bodnant Gardens, which feature a unique plant collection, Italian terraces, and a waterfall, are popular activities.
