Vor dem Museum hat man eine tolle Aussicht auf Innsbruck und die Umgebung... Ich war tatsächlich überrascht wie toll das Kaiserjägermuseum ist... Wenn man sich ein bißchen für das Militärische interessiert kann man hier viel Zeit verbringen... Der Eingang ins Museum ist gegenüber im Neuem Gebäude...

Il Bergisel è un luogo estremamente ricco di storia, poiché qui più di duecento anni fa si svolsero sanguinose battaglie tra l'esercito del potere governativo bavarese e i ribelli tirolesi. Il 13 agosto 1809 i bavaresi furono infine sconfitti e costretti a ritirarsi. Alla fine del XIX secolo, questa leggendaria battaglia fu rappresentata in un'enorme immagine panoramica. Il dipinto circolare è grande 1000m² e dispone di una piattaforma rialzata, sulla quale i visitatori possono muoversi liberamente. Attraverso il paesaggio artificiale, il cosiddetto "faux terrain", gli eventi sembrano estremamente reali. Le immagini sono state dipinte su una tela curva, in modo che siano distorte e abbiano un effetto tridimensionale. Il gigantesco dipinto circolare fu portato a Londra nel 1906 e esposto alla "Royal Austrian Exhibition". Durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale fu poi trasferito a Vienna, dove sopravvisse indenne anche alla Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Anche il museo Kaiserjäger tirolese fa parte del nuovo museo, ed è collegato sotterraneamente al TIROL PANORAMA. In questo corridoio di collegamento è situata la mostra "Schauplatz Tirol", una mostra permanente con impressionanti reperti del passato tirolese. Qui i visitatori intraprendono un emozionante viaggio alla scoperta di importanti tappe della storia tirolese e si immergono in temi come politica, religione, uomo e natura. Nel pavimento sono stati inseriti elementi in calcestruzzo, sospesi su cavi d'acciaio, che dovrebbero illustrare la frattura della storia politica. Su colonne angolari i visitatori possono apprendere molte cose interessanti sulla storia tirolese, mentre dietro diverse porte vengono rappresentati i tratti caratteristici dei tirolesi.
