Krótki przegląd Villa Imperiale, znana również jako Villa Imperiale Cattaneo, to jedna z najstarszych i najbardziej prestiżowych willi genueńskich z epoki Renesansu. Powstała na początku XVI wieku z inicjatywy Lorenzo Cristoforo Cattaneo, a już w 1502 roku gościła na swoim dziedzińcu króla Luigiego XII Francji podczas wizyty w Genui  . W kolejnych stuleciach przechodziła kolejno w ręce rodzin Salvago i Imperiale („di Sant’Angelo”), od których pochodzi jej dzisiejsza nazwa, aż została zakupiona przez miasto Genowa w latach 1920 . ⸻ 🎨 Architektura i wnętrza W 1560–1563 roku willa została gruntownie przebudowana według projektu braci Domenico i Giovanni Ponzello, tworząc przykład wysokiego manieryzmu liguryjskiego — zestawiając solidną architekturę z efektywnym wtopieniem w krajobraz Forlanesque . W centralnej sali na pierwszym piętrze znajduje się imponujący fresk Luca Cambiaso, przedstawiający „Uprowadzenie Sabinek” – wyrazisty przykład malarskiego mistrzostwa XVI wieku 

Oggi, 29 luglio 2025 visita a 🌿 Villa Imperiale: un gioiello rinascimentale nel verde La Villa Imperiale, costruita nel XVI secolo e oggi sede della biblioteca comunale “Lercari”, di una scuola materna e di un centro sociale, è circondata da un parco articolato su terrazze gradonate, con prati all’inglese, lecci, cipressi e cedri: un’oasi di tranquillità nel cuore del quartiere di San Fruttuoso . Il parco, perfetto per rilassarsi dopo una passeggiata, offre aree gioco per bambini—una vicino all’ingresso di via Torti e un’altra più estesa in cima alla collina, dalla quale si ammira un panorama spettacolare su Genova Il parco che la circonda, nonostante alcuni tratti attualmente chiusi per lavori di riqualificazione, finanziati con un progetto PNRR, mantiene intatto il suo fascino. I lavori in corso, con transenne e aree temporaneamente inaccessibili, rappresentano una criticità evidente, soprattutto per chi desidera usufruire dell’intera area giochi o percorrere l’intero giardino. Tuttavia, il progetto di restauro in atto lascia intravedere una valorizzazione importante degli spazi, con interventi mirati alla sicurezza, all’accessibilità e al recupero storico. In sintesi, nonostante qualche limitazione attuale, la visita alla Villa Imperiale resta un’esperienza positiva, soprattutto per chi apprezza i luoghi in cui la bellezza del paesaggio si intreccia con la memoria storica della città
