Reviews and Ratings
Write a reviewThe sculpture Hercules and Cacus is located on the corner of the Palazzo Vecchio, towards the Uffizi. Made of marble by Baccio Bandinelli in 1534, after it was initially commissioned to Michelangelo, who, due to his great commitment, was unable to realize it. Hercules and Cacus is a plot from Roman mythology. The plot tells how Hercules stopped to rest near the cave of Cacus during his journey. While Hercules was sleeping, Cacus stole some of Hercules' cattle and dragged them into his cave. However, Hercules found the tracks that led to the cave and after calling one of the cows responded. Then Hercules stood before Cacus and killed him in battle. Victory over evil and justice triumphed. GPS: 43.76920,11.25587
