About

Casa Romana Del Anfiteatro in Mérida offers a fascinating journey into ancient Roman life, beautifully preserved for modern exploration. This historical attraction, boasting an impressive 4.7 rating on Google, features two well-maintained Roman houses that showcase architectural influences from Italy and Greece. The site's highlights include a private bath, a section of an ancient wall, and a funerary site, all complemented by captivating mosaics with geometric, floral, and mythological motifs.

Visitors can enjoy observing these wonders from metal walkways, ensuring accessibility for children and wheelchair users. Art enthusiasts will particularly appreciate the intricate mosaics and the chance to witness part of an ancient aqueduct. While the experience is immersive, the site could benefit from improved signage for deeper structural understanding, and some maintenance is needed for the glass walkway above the fish mosaic. Despite these minor issues, Casa Romana Del Anfiteatro remains a highly recommended destination for anyone interested in history and ancient art.

Spectacular remains. We visited wth our guide Lucia. She was excellent both in he knowledge, interest in the subject matter and her English. We recommend having a tour with her. The tour was called full Roman Tour of Mérida.
