Booked a table for birthday dinner, didn’t check the menu and wish we had. A handful of options for each course that felt more like a specials offering than a full menu. Food was acceptably prepared, duck Gyoza were oily and not crispy, chips were excellent, and felt overpriced. The £82 for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert and 3 soft drinks didn’t feel justified. The location is second to none. The toilets need a seriously good clean and the overpowering smell of artificial air freshener does nothing to cover the smell of damp and general poor hygiene levels Chay our waiter was perfect. Professional. Personable. Attentive and reactive without it feeling like he was hovering. Staff seemed fed up. Except for Chay and the young lad on reception everything felt like too much effort for them. My second time at a St Austell Brewery location on the last year and it’ll be the last.
