We came here on our last night London seeing as we were too tired to head into central London. A local told me this place used to be a proper pub but got yuppied out. Morehead formed here. Joe Strummer jumped off the bridge into the canal to save someone though that tale may be a bit exaggerated. Anyway we came in and it was super loud because they were having a trivia night. The girl at the front was cool at first after explaining the set up. We decided to grab a table outside next to the aforementioned canal. Then I went up to order but the aforementioned girl had a little attitude when she asked for my table number. I don't know man, you didn't explain that part so down the stairs I went and then back up and then back down with the drinks. It was very pleasant outside especially with a view of the canal. However then we were informed that the outside area was closing so we went back upstairs. The food I got the fish and chips and she got the burger. The fish was excellent and well seasoned. The mint mushy peas were very nice. My lady said the burger was a little overcooked. And what's up with the scarcity with ketchup in the UK? We're Americans we drown our fries in that stuff. All in all a little wonky start as they say here but the food was good and the view was nice while it lasted and I was bummed they ran out of sticky toffee pudding. Would have been a nice ending to our trip. Next time London. After we went down the street to Angie's and had another round and that was London 2025 folks.

The Union Tavern — Craft Beer, Canal Views, and Comfort Food Done Right Tucked away on Woodfield Road, The Union Tavern is a hidden gem perched beside the Grand Union Canal. With its industrial-chic interior, warm lighting, and spacious terrace overlooking the water, it’s the kind of place that feels both laid-back and quietly stylish. Food & Flavour: The menu is a thoughtful blend of British pub classics and modern gastropub fare. Highlights include: Spatchcock chicken with parmentier potatoes and creamy mushroom sauce — rich and satisfying Pan-seared gnocchi with sundried tomatoes, wild rocket, and feta crumble — light yet indulgent Union beef burger — generous, juicy, and served with hand-cut chips Sticky Toffee Pudding — a must-try dessert, warm and comforting Drinks: An impressive selection of craft beers from names like Beavertown, Siren, and Kernel. There’s also wine, cocktails, and quality coffee for slower afternoons.

On a city break and staying in the area and this was my local for 3 days. Absolutely brilliant pub with amazing food and the most perfect location beside the canal. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and if you have the chance of a Sunday lunch please do have it because it was delicious. Excellent choice of beers and wine of offer . It can get busy because it's such a good pub but don't let that put you off because you will always find a table after a short wait 10 out of 10
