Chez Max – Allo Allo vibes without the need for ear-cheese A charming little faux-French café tucked beside the castle. We popped in for lunch, but I’d wager it does a decent evening turn too. Think Allo Allo – but without anyone sayng “I will say zis only once,” and with better tea. It’s quaint, slightly cramped, and just the right amount of kitsch. Service was friendly, though we were left to marinate a bit before anyone noticed us. Tea? Good. Baguette? Also good. René? Sadly absent. Conclusion: Cosy, quirky, and worth a stop – whether you're hungry or just hoping to spot a resistance member in a beret.
