Not far from the central part of the city lies a quaint old square that was recently named after the famous artist Yurga Ivanauskaitė. This was done to honor the talent of the Lithuanian writer who lived on a nearby street.

Since everyone knew about her sincere love for cats and how frequently these animals appeared in Yurga's works, a little later, it was decided to adorn this green corner with a corresponding memory sign: a whimsical cat seems to have stepped onto the pavement straight out of a child's drawing. This quirky sculpture has been an integral part of the small and quiet Vilnius park since 2009.

The piece is quite large and made of granite - such an attraction draws tourists to the modest neighborhood, allowing them to get a closer look at the work of local artists.
