The Stiftskeller restaurant, like an important and high-ranking noble or even the emperor himself, invites only the chosen ones to rest at its tables, so planning a relax here, it is essential to book tables in advance. Boiled turnips and rutabagas, capon breast with port, and cottage cheese dumpling with maple syrup are just a fraction of the incredible dishes with which they spoil their guests in this establishment. The atmosphere of the restaurant, as well as its design, create the impression of some old Austrian fairy tale, where, to the music of Mozart, miracles happen and champagne flows into sparkling glasses like a foamy firework.

Oldest restaurant in Europe, allegedly. Roast beef and onions was superb along with a very nice house red.

The atmosphere and surroundings were spot on. As it was our anniversary, we also had a surprise glass of fizz each which was a lovely touch. A special mention to Alessandro who was fantastic. Didn’t get the sommelier’s name but he recommended a fantastic bottle of rose as well
