The day the funicular in Dresden became operational is considered to be October 26, 1895. Initially, it was powered by steam traction. It was on this power that the mentioned city transport worked for a whole 15 years. In 1910, the Dresden funicular underwent reconstruction, after which it switched to electricity. It has been operating on electricity up to the present day.

The main purpose of the Dresden funicular is to transport citizens from the Loschwitz district to the Weisser Hirsch district and back. The maximum capacity of the vehicle is 60 passengers. Along its route, which is 547 meters long, the Dresden funicular passes through two tunnels - the Burgberg tunnel and the Princess Louise tunnel.

Although more than a hundred years have passed, this mode of transport remains popular to this day. Its fundamental value lies in its ability to offer an abundance of vivid experiences.
