From a distance, it resembles a temple of the Hellenes, uniting under its angular roof Rome, Greece, Babylon, India, and even Spain. Fragments of civilizations, it seemed, were gathered together, only to be left and forgotten by their owners. One hundred and thirteen meters of the altar from the very city of Pergamum depict the battle of the gods against the giants. And here the spear is already raised, and the thunderbolts of the Thunderer are waiting for their moment to strike down upon the heads of the strangers - years pass by with this spectacle, through harsh winters and weightless summer days. The goddess Ishtar silently watches from the bas-relief, her immovable gaze following each distracted tourist.
