The palace, which with its broad back closed off the garden, the residence of the Hohenzollerns, and even a porcelain museum - Charlottenburg was named after Sophia Charlotte, the wife of King Frederick. The construction of the palace was her fanciful, albeit fleeting whim, which was promptly fulfilled. The "porcelain" belvedere, the mausoleum, and an entire pavilion with collections from the architect Schinkel. Directly opposite the facade, there stands a monument to Frederick William I. If one closely examines the elegance of some of the lines, the inspired details throughout the palace, one can discern elements of rococo and baroque. Roads, intricate labyrinths, and obligatory fountains - everywhere there is greenery and perfect forms. The entrance is adorned with a dome 48 meters high, from which Fortuna herself looks down protectively - the benefactress to the kind and a helper to the strong.
