Charlottenburg harbors a secret within its depths, a mystery, a treasure of human genius - the Berggruen Museum, a fairly well-known former dealer and devoted collector. Thirty years have not passed in vain, and Berggruen, as if making a grand gesture of reconciliation with the rest of the world, gave all he had accumulated to the city. An unassuming building, embodying German pragmatism and practicality, hides a whole hundred works by Picasso, dozens of paintings by Matisse and Klee. Exhibitions change incredibly quickly - for understandable reasons, the place is visited by crowds of people eager for art and beauty. Giacometti sculptures, bronze statues, and echoes of distant Africa - everything is mixed together at Berggruen's, who was madly in love with collecting world masterpieces.

I have a soft spot for small museums with beautiful art collections and Bettina Berggruen Museum is certainly one of them. Located in a beautiful mansion a bit out of the way, it’s a beautiful area to visit and also gives you access to a very nice quaint garden after your visit. There is a very carefully curated collection on display: Giacometti, Picasso, Klee, Cezanne, Brague, Matisse. If late 19th early 20th century art is to your liking, you are guaranteed to be happy here. I certainly enjoy the museum every time I visit and recommend it to all of my friends.
