Had a delicious Sunday roast here recently. Great menu options too as my friend didn’t fancy a roast, due to the weather. I can’t come here and not have the calamari to start because it’s so good, and it didn’t disappoint this time. My friend ordered the beef croquettes and they were incredible, I even had a bit of food envy! The slow cooked beef brisket dinner was stunning, it came with lots of tasty vegetables including cauliflour and broccoli cheese - my favourite, and the gravy was out of this world. My friend had the pasta, which she thoroughly enjoyed and despite it being a great sized portion, she didn’t offer for me to try any, so it must have been too good to share! We did share the chocolate brownie for dessert though, because you can’t come to The Brook Bistro and not have their brownie! 😍 The service was excellent and the vibes in the garden were like being on holiday, overall 10/10!

After countless visits to this gem of Whitchurch this is the first time I have been disappointed with the food. As always the staff were great, very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the Sunday lunch left a lot to be desired. Four different main courses were served just about warm, the accompanying vegetables had definitely taken a turn for the worse in what seemed to be some sort of mixed vegetable package as opposed the the normal high standard of excellent individual vegetable portions. Cold soft roast potatoes didn’t help a disappointing meal. To their credit the lamb and chicken portions were lovely albeit just barely warm. We aired our views without any fuss and were given an apology and told a number of diners had also complained about the food temperature! Puddings were of the usual high standard but maybe the management have taken their eye off the ball and need to review their main course Sunday lunch.
