When I went into the café ydy, I was surprised to find that the last page of their in-house menu was entirely dedicated to alcoholic drinks. This completely caught me off guard. The café promotes itself as a Pakistani venue, with Islamic art on its walls, so seeing alcohol on the menu felt out of place. What puzzled me even more is that none of this is shown on their online menus — it only appears in the physical one. It just doesn’t match the atmosphere I associate with a desi café. I left feeling confused, wondering who they’re trying to appeal to by serving alcohol in a space that otherwise presents such a culturally and religiously specific identity.

I visit regularly and the food is always wonderful. Freshly made delicious home cooked food. My favourite is the shakshuka. It's also well worth booking the curry club on a Friday or Saturday evening. Highly recommended.
