Bydgoszcz

Bydgoszcz — a dynamically developing city and one of the largest economic centers, located in the north of the country. The city is often called the Polish Venice, as the Vistula and Brda rivers flow through it.

Luxurious mansions, cultural landmarks, and architectural monuments — every stone in Bydgoszcz breathes history, taking you back to the Middle Ages. The city is surrounded by numerous green areas, with many beautiful parks ideal for a peaceful rest or a leisurely stroll.

The Old Market Square — the center of attraction for all visitors. It resembles the typical square found in many European cities, framed by beautiful houses of varying heights and styles. On the Old Market Square, you'll find house number 15, where twice a day the figure of the sorcerer Pan Twardowski appears in the window. This character from Polish legends, much like Faust, sold his soul to the Devil and paid the price. Now, precisely at 13:13 and 21:13, the figure laughs, bows, and waves, giving the children a bit of a fright.

Along the cozy Długa street lies the main shopping promenade of Stare Miasto (the old town). Here, you can also find the unusual Museum of Soap and History of Dirt, as well as small cafes and coffee shops.

Located by the river, the Bydgoszcz Venice quarter is interlaced with numerous canals. Construction began as early as the 19th century, but in recent years local authorities have decided to endow the quarter with the charm of a genuine tourist destination, transforming it into one of Bydgoszcz's most beautiful attractions. The city's main highlight is the sculpture of a young tightrope walker who appears to be floating above the water.
