Popped into Metrodeco this morning for a bit of brekkie and a pot of tea and was very pleasantly surprised. Boasting a rather fabulous menu with some interesting eats rather than the mundane run of the mill breakfast standards (Scottish breakfast looked super!) I plumped for the pancakes with crispy bacon, fried egg and maple syrup. Plump would be an understatement in describing what I got - or perhaps it is the state of the eater post meal?! A pile of the floofiest pancakes were topped with an egg that oozed majestically over them as I sliced in to it. The new chef, Al Studd seems to have brought the same magic to breakfast items here as he did to seafood in his previous venture at The Gothic Crab. Needless to say, I and my friend rolled out of there having stuffed ourselves silly. Just in case you need more convincing to visit, the cold cabinet was full to busying of delectable treasures including the biggest croissants filled to saturation levels with ham and cheese. In fact, I might have to go back for lunch! Highly recommended a visit. Super smiley and attentive staff too which makes all the difference. Didn’t get a photo, too busy eating!

Tilly + Jacinta were the hosts from heaven when I was stuck for a pancake house back in July + their chef was away that day. They gave me a ton of recommendations, so when I returned to Brighton last week, I rushed back to sample their wares. Their own pancakes were delicious, light + fluffy + flavoursome - if rather sweet on that particular dish. Their Turkish-inspired brunch was spicy + satisfying. As for the ambience, it's chilled, quiet + the location is spacious, the decor minimalist + relaxing. Metrodeco is now on my Brighton playlist, lol! Looking forward to my next visit to try the next brunch dish... 👌
