Much improved as of April 2025 - lovely bar staff and good selection of drinks. Seems to be consistently open too!

Without trying, the weirdest pub in Brighton in the teeth of a lot of competition. This is does by stocking almost nothing to drink. A Harvey’s pub, Harvey’s is off, as is almost every other beer. The spirit selection would shame your great aunt it’s so feeble, but there is wine. There’s also a pool table and TV showing Europa League football, which is why I was there. Many potential customers walked away when they saw there was virtually nothing to drink, but students gathered to play pool and enjoy the irony of such a strange non-boozer. The barman had no choice but to find it as amusing as everyone else there, but I’m not sure it’s a very sound business plan.

Very much a proper pub. Pool table and sports on TV. There was barely any beer on when I came but a very well kept stout which was worth the trip.
