Also einige Bewertungen sind hier echt ultra memmig. Die Toiletten sind tatsächlich unter aller Sau. Aber!: wenn kein Korb mehr da ist und dich das stört dann komm' erstens früher, benutze zweitens deine Hände&Arme oder hol dir ne Tüte an dem Verkaufstand im Foyer oooder nimm dir dann einen Korb auf den Stockwerken, da sind die dann meistens. Und zu der Lautstärke: die Bibliothek ist zum Foyer hin offen. So ist das Gebäude gebaut. Wenn das einigen nicht passen sollte gibt es entweder Ohrenstöpsel, Kopfhörer oder (jetzt kommts) Bibliotheken die anders gebaut sind. Der Hammer oder? Und zu den Anmerkungen hier, dass mehr Tische hinpassen würden etc.: nicht wirklich, und wenn dann auf Kosten des Bestandes, der Funktionalität und der Sicherheit des Gebäudes. Uuuund wenn Tische über Stunden reserviert werden: die kannst du dir nehmen. Wenn jemand länger als ne Stunde weg ist, verfällt ihr/sein Recht auf den Platz. Du kannst dich dann einfach da hin setzten und die Person informieren. Ist unangenehm, ist aber richtig und rechtens so. Die Bibliothek hat eine gute Ausstattung, guter Bestand. Personal ist in der Regel nett und hilfreich, sowie hilfsbereit. Es empfiehlt sich früh zu kommen. Man kann in der kleinen Cafeteria da für 6-7 Euro gut satt werden.

Great library. Lots of different books and magazines to all kind of topics. Desks are spacious although not always available. During the exam season it’s really difficult to find a spot between 10 am and 8 pm. But the library being opened 24/7 makes up for it. Don’t forget to bring your student id card if entering at night (10pm to 7 am I think). The cafe is also quite nice. The worst thing about the library is the restroom situation. They’re always dirty and smell horrible. But else, a great spot to study right in the heart of (former west) Berlin!
