Antwerp

The diamond capital of the world, one of Europe's largest ports, and a Belgian city with a unique cultural heritage – this is Antwerp. The most interesting attractions are located south of the port on the left bank of the Scheldt River. Begin your walk with the Red Star Line museum, dedicated to the multi-million European emigration to America. A hundred meters to the south is the modern building with a red facade: MAS (Museum aan de Stroom), known for its interactive exhibitions and quests.

Stroll along the riverside to Het Steen – a massive fortress with towers. The observation platforms in the fortress offer a stunning view of the river and the Old Town. Nearby, at the ferry pier, there is a Ferris wheel.

Visit the DIVA diamond museum near the famous Grote Markt square (Christmas markets are held here in winter). Admire the beauty of the tall historical buildings, the Town Hall, and the Brabo fountain. Take in the facade and the magnificent interior of the huge Gothic cathedral.

Check out the Exchange building, the Fashion Museum, the Rubens House, and the Van der Berg museum. In the old dock area, you will find two modern art museums – FOMU (photography) and M HKA (installations). Cross the river through the old underground tunnel (the steps are made of wood). In the park near the ferry crossing, you can enjoy the views of Antwerp in the evening.
