On March 30th, 1968, the Paradiso center was opened in a church building, where it served as a haven for Amsterdam's bohemian community. Due to the space being vacant, it began to be utilized by Amsterdam's creative youth. By 2008, the former church had transformed into the trendy nightclub "Paradiso". Located almost in the city center, it offers the best concerts and an atmosphere inspired by music. Only the stained glass windows and architecture remind visitors that it was once a church, as the somewhat daunting exterior gives way to a vibrant interior setting. Many famous performers, such as Amy Winehouse, Sex Pistols, and the Rolling Stones have graced its stage, along with many local projects celebrating their debuts.
