About

Hoppe Café is one of the most famous traditional "brown" establishments in Amsterdam. It might not be very crowded during the day, but it's packed in the evenings. Formerly a distillery, it is now one of the iconic places in the city. The "brown cafe" occupies two buildings: the first one is mainly used by visitors who enjoy socializing. Its interior features numerous beautiful original details, such as antique stained glass and sawdust scattered across the floor. It used to be a spot where locals would come to discuss world issues, art, politics. Now, it attracts a diverse crowd of all ages, coming together to sample various kinds of beer, wine, and other spirits, as well as typical Dutch snacks, including herring.

Nice food, nice beer, nice service. Expected a more traditional atmosphere, only some minor disappointments about it😌
