Además de ser un lugar agradable, permite el enlace con zonas para hacer senderismo o pasear. Por ejemplo siguiendo el canal (hacia Plaza o hacia Torrero), o bien enlazando con el corredor verde que a través del barrio Oliver y Valdefierro, enlaza el anillo verde y sur de la ciudad.

El entorno es muy bonito, la zona de Casablanca está muy bien cuidada por el ayuntamiento, no puedo decir lo mismo de la zona entre Gómez laguna hasta el embarcadero está muy descuidada, faltan papeleras te hace caca el perro y puedes andar y andar hasta llegar a una papelera llevando la bolsita encima…. Incluso hasta el sendero está mucho peor.
