Pre booked timed visit, 1 hour tour. Fantastic..... our guide Sean was interesting, engaging and knew his stuff! Really enjoyed the visit, learned quite a bit too. Parking not great at the site, but English Heritage can't be held responsible for that due to where the site is. It's not somewhere you'd re-visit once you've been, but I'd definitely recommend 🙂

Well.worth a visit. Excellent guided tour with very entertaining and knowledgeable staff.

A very interesting English Heritage site: completely unique with a harrowing story attached to it. Our guide was knowledgeable and kept the narrative interesting. It's a great activity to do in York, and practically a must if you are already and English Heritage member.
